Children

We're very excited about our Children's Library area. Thanks to a generous grant from the Harry Beverley Tillotson Trust we have been able to expand the library, providing more bookshelves, and child-friendly seating. With the increased space resulting from our move to a new room we have a Children's Library to be proud of.

Coming Up

December 4th, Wednesday - It's Story Time!

Bookstart

Bookstart gives free books to every child in England and Wales at two key stages before school, as well as free packs for children with additional needs, tips and guidance on reading together, resources and activities, and much more.

As the world's first national book-gifting programme, Bookstart aims to encourage a love of books, stories and rhymes in children from as young an age as possible. Whether you're a family wanting to find out what Bookstart can offer you or an early years practitioner involved in delivering Bookstart programmes and gifting the packs, you'll find all the information by visiting BookTrust.

The Secret Book Quest

The Secret Book Quest continues the ideals of Bookstart, encouraging children to read 50 books between the ages of 5 and 12. Children can sign up at the library to receive a free activity booklet and reading tracker.

Join Pip, Zena and Libro the cat on a unique reading adventure through 10 themed worlds, including animals, underwater, space and technology, beautifully illustrated by Emily Fox.
